Yes it is normal for cats to eat grass. They eat grass when they have an upset stomach, kind of like a human taking a rolaid. Usually they will throw up the grass afterwards so you might be prepared for that. It's normal, don't worry.

Pleast read my answer below. Cats eating grass because they have an upset stomach is only a myth. ;)

my cat eats grass all the time, and makes sure she comes in to be sick on the bed or carpet. vet has said it is ok, way to clear her stomach.

Pretty normal. Pretty safe. They may vomit afterwards because they are unable to digest grass, but it's nothing to be worried about. The old tale is that cats and dogs eat grass because they're sick. This is false. Cats and dogs eat grass because they're sick. They eat grass because they're moody. They eat grass because they're happy. They eat grass because they're healthy. And they even eat it because they love you. In other words, they eat grass for no other reason other than it tastes good as far as we can tell. :)

unbeliever: a cat will eat grass to vomit if s/he has a hairball and/or an upset stomach. It is not a myth.

You're right. A cat WILL eat grass if they have a hairball and possibly if they are just slightly sick. But, like I said. A cat will also eat grass when there's not a thing in the world wrong with them. Do some research. And do it offline. The internet is full of lies. Ask your Veterinarian.

Yes. They may toss their cookies afterwards, but that's the intent.
