Cats will eat the strangest things. Outdoor cats will actually catch and eat bugs. But the most common, is they will occaissionally eat grass, or attack plants, to induce vomitting, because they have upset stomach from fur balls. Eating newpaper and tp, may just be a bad habit. If your cat is a house cat, and there is no vegetation whatsoever, try plucking a bit of grass from outside. I know your cat will become ill, but this is normal, because like I say, it is their way of clearing out something in their system
