Is It Normal For Cat Eyes To Change Color? My Cat Had Hazel Eyes, And It Is Changing Into Green.. Is She Sick Or Something?

My cat of 13 years and I thought was healthy just died suddenly..I tried to resuscitate but no luck. I noticed his eyes were all black as he lay limp. After my attempt to give CPR his eyes came back to normal but he got colder and I knew he was gone...It really sucks!!!...Why the color change??Scott

My cats a year old, and hes been losing weight and shedding his coat, also his blue eyes have turned green from time to time (last 3 months only) every times hes lazy, not eating n just sleeping. He isn't licking himself either or eating anything. Just water at times. When yr cat changed color did it have the same symptoms as mine? Because Ive been to the vet thrice and he isn't able to diagnose
it. Just fever as he puts it but I'm worried. My cats been like this since 3 months almost! Please help if you have a diagnosis from yr vet.

Thanks guys! I took him to the vet again n demanded he check my cat thoroughly.. He drew blood samples because he suspected it might be jaundice but it was an infection from bugs or some other insect, he gave him detoxifying syrup which cleared green eye and hes healthy as ever! =))

Take him to another vet right away. Could be bad uti or kidney infection. He probably needs blood work.

It depends on the age of the cat, If the cat is actually a kitten still about 6 months or less old, then yes they can definatly change. If the cat is older it depends on if it was an immediate change or not. If it was immediate then I would take her to the vet as soon as possible if it was progressive then It could be due to the production of cataracs (sign of going blind) or just purely natural. Now also if it was progressive more than likely you wont be able to do anything about it, but I would still check it out with a vet

No, she is not sick. Some cats have the tendency to change the colour of their eyes so don't worry about the fact that her eyes are turning into green.

Majority of kittens are born with blue eyes, you will find after 5 to 6 weeks the colour will start to change.
