I feed toads small insects that are alive like rolly pollies which hide in moist places like under neath rocks
I just got one yesterday that I rescued out of my back yard and I went to petsmart and bought him flightless fruit flies because he is too tiny to eat small crickets yet. They re-generate themselves for 5 weeks, but it was close to $6 for the flies.
Their main diet is insects any kind! That's the reason for that unusual sticky tongue! Both of my friends were right also! So I would say all the above, because!
This will also depend on size, as well as species. British species love worms, and very baby ones can be fed successfully on tiny worms and aphids. I know as I have done this. Whatever you offer, it has got to still be alive and moving, unfortunately. This is because frogs and toads see like T.Rex used to - they can only see moving objects or surroundings. If it is still, after a few seconds they can't see it any more. This is because their eyes do not flicker.
Frogs mostly eat insects, bugs, flies, or maybe a leaf or grass.
Flies or any type of small insect.
Meal worm is one of the favorite food of frog. Some frogs are herbivores and some are omnivores. Frogs eat small snakes, mice and mosquito larvae. For more information, visit the link below.

Make sure they are the small crickets. You can get them in sizes. Once the frog is big enough for worms, start it on "red wigglers" which are smaller OR cut up an earth worm in small pieces. Remove the pieces when they are no longer moving. Frogs usually only eat moving things.
If you have a bullfrog, it will eat small mice or such. Leopard frogs eat water bugs, flies, water spiders, and more. Toads eat about the same thing as Leopard frogs but will eat more land based things such as worms, baby snakes, land spiders, and salamanders/newts. These will please many types of frogs and toads, for more information, be more specific on which types.
