These symptoms could be the sign of a multitude of different problems, both serious and not so serious, and therefore it may be difficult to establish exactly what is wrong with your dog, unless you take him to see a vet.
The vet will be able to establish exactly what is wrong with your pet, and should be able to diagnose the problem right away. Following this, treatment can begin immediately.

Numerous conditions could cause this behaviour:
- The most serious condition normally associated with these symptoms is bloat. This condition is potentially life-threatening, so take your dog to the vet as quickly as you can.
- Bacterial, parasitic or fungal infections can all cause these problems in your dog.
- An allergic reaction can sometimes cause these symptoms as well. Your dog may be experiencing a reaction to the environment or something it ate.
