To me it sounds as if your dog is in distress and, unfortunately, these symptoms could be the sign of a rather serious problem.

I cannot stress to you how important it is that you take your dog to the vet as soon as possible.

They will be able to undertake a very thorough and more detailed examination of your pet and should be able to start treatment for the problem right away.

  • The most obvious reason why your dog is no longer eating or drinking and walking around with its head down is because of illness. However, numerous conditions could cause these problems.
  • If your dog has recently been vaccinated, then this could also cause this kind of behaviour. Sometimes vaccinations can have a negative impact on your dog and cause them to lose their appetite.
  • If you have recently moved home, or for some reason your dog is now in unfamiliar surroundings, then this may also cause your dog to stop eating.
I would advise you to take your dog to the veterinary practice as soon as possible.
