Excessive water drinking in dogs can be due to exercise, pyometra in female dogs, kidney failure, high calcium in the blood, diabetes, lead poisoning, kidney and liver diseases. Dogs also drink more water to compensate water loss due to vomiting or diarrhea. Ideally, you should take your dog to vet for diagnosis and treatment.
