House spider bites can cause local areas of irritation--red, raised bump(s) on the skin. The poisonous spiders--like black widows and brown recluses--can cause severe redness leading to large areas of skin death. If your dog is sensitive to spider bites it can have an anaphylactic reaction--this is severe and can be life threatening. Signs include facial swelling, difficulty breathing, vomiting, and lethargy/depression.
If you have any concerns that a spider has bitten your dog please have the dog examined by a veterinarian immediately.
