Is this occasional problem or persistent? Does your cat go outside? What is feed of your cat? Anyhow, persistent bloody stools along with mucous in cats can be due to intestinal parasites and worms like roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms etc. Conditions  like Giardiasis, cryptosporidiosis, and coccidiosis can also cause mucous containing bloody stools in cats. Clostridium bacteria are also common pathogen causing this condition in cats. Some medicines like Griseofulvin can cause blood in the stools of cats.

Differential diagnosis is done by the vet who will go for different blood tests, urine tests, abdominal  x-ray/ultrasound, and stool tests after rectal examinations. Treatment depends upon underlying cause. So, you should take your cat to vet.
