Blood contained within cat poop is never normal. If this was just a one time occurrence I would not be concerned, but if it is a frequent event, then it is most probably a sign of a serious health problem with your cat.

Watch out for the following problems with your pet:

  • Diarrhea.
  • Lethargy.
  • Not eating/drinking.
  • Vomiting.

Your cat needs to be seen immediately by a veterinarian, who will be able to perform tests and scans on your pet which cannot be done by asking online.

Once a diagnosis has been made then treatment can begin straight away.

Common causes of diarrhea and bloody stools are:

  • Dietary indiscretion.
  • Intestinal parasites.
  • Stress.
  • Metabolic diseases.
