Urinary problems in male cats should not be taken lightly. This is because male cats can become "blocked"--ie a mucous plug or bladder stone can lodge in the urethra. If this happens they are unable to urinate which is an emergency and can be life threatening.
A urinary tract infection is possible. Bladder stones also need to be ruled out.

There is another syndrome in male cats called sterile cystitis or FLUTD (feline lower urinary tract disease). An irritation of the bladder lining leads to bloody urine but unlike with infection there is no bacterial or fungal cause of this disease. The cause is stress--this can be environmental change or anything that causes anxiety to your cat.
Your cat needs to be examined by a veterinarian who will do a urinalysis to rule out infectious causes and may take an x-ray or ultrasound to look for bladder stones. If it is sterile cystitis they will discuss environmental factors that lead to this, sometimes a special urinary diet can help.

Watch for signs of straining to urinate, frequent visits to the litterbox, painful urination or lack of urination--if these signs occur have him looked at immediately as he could be blocked.

Your cat may have a urinary tract infection and may require antibiotics. This very thing happened to my cat. We waited too long to get him to the vet and he required a second round of meds. This was many years ago, but I would have him seen right away.
Good Luck-

In cats, Bladder diseases are common and instead of the female cats these diseases are more common in the male cats. Male cats have the threat of the blockage of urethra and I think your male cat has the urinary tract disorder. In this condition the male cats releases blood in urine. You should consult a vet for check up and do not take it as easy.

Long term an untreated urinary tract infection can ascend to the kidneys.  Kidney infection (pyelonephritis) is a serious disease that can cause kidneys to fail--this is fatal.  If the blood is secondary to bladder stones a stone could become lodged in her urethra (the exit to the bladder) though this is very uncommon in female cats.
It would be best to have her examined by a veterinarian and at least have a urinalysis run.  Contact your local animal shelter--some run low cost or income based clinics.  Also some veterinary clinics except payment plans.
Especially if your cat stops eating, drinking, become very lethargic, or stops urinating she needs to be seen immediately.

I don't know if you got the message I sent but ill put it here again anyway, it could be bladder stones this is serious and you should take him straight to the vet asap because his bladder could burst, this happened to my cat and he died of it because my dad wouldnt take him to the vet to be checked. He had all the same symptoms, please don't wait or it could be too late.

I took my cat to the vet twice in the last month because I noticed he had blood in his urine. The doctor gave him antibiotics both times and my cat is having the same problem again. What could this be?

Urinary tract infection, urinary stones, kidney problems, and bladder masses are possible causes of bloody urine.  A very common cause in male cats is a syndrome called FLUTD--feline lower urinary tract disease or sterile cystitis.  This causes a non-infectious inflammation of the bladder lining thought to be caused by stress.  It results in bloody urine and in severe cases urinary tract obstruction.  Urinary tract obstruction is an emergency.
Your cat needs to be examined by a veterinarian; diagnostics will begin with a urinalysis.

The blood in urine is normally caused by the disease Feline Lower Urinary Tract Infection. It has not only one specific reason but inflammation of urinary bladder can be a reason. Your pet requires an immediate examination. The second situation is caused by hyperthyroidism that occurs due to excessive secretion of thyroid gland. This should not be ignored and should be treated immediately because in rare cases this can cause cancer. So it is better to take your pet to vet to treat both the diseases in time. Your vet can recommend you Methimazole for two or three times a day throughout the life of the cat for Hyperthyroidism.
