These are signs of a neurological issue.  Common causes include trauma, toxin, infectious disease, neoplasia, and vascular events.  Have your cat examined by a veterinarian to see if a cause can be determined.  Some of the things mentioned above can be treated.  With some diseases time is the treatment of choice!  In the mean time make sure this cat is able to eat and drink.

We just experienced the same thing with are 14 year old female. She has had a stroke. The vet said there could also be a tumor. He gave her a steroid and she seems to be a little better today. She is in no pain as far as they know. We have to take her to the bath room and help her eat. If this does not improve in 5 days to two weeks we will have to accept the obvious. This amount of wait time is to allow the broken blood vessels in her brain to reroute so to speak. The steroid is used to help the body to heal. The steroid is the only thing that has shown any kind of difference with this illness.
