No this is not a normal reaction to steroids. Adverse effects from steroids are typically from long term use. Contact your veterinarian and have your cat examined again. Peripheral (not brain related) neuropathies (neurological dysfunction) and progressive ataxia (lack of coordination or walking drunk) can be related to Feline Leukemia.
