I have a similar problem my mother won't feed her puppies and refuses to take care of them so I now have to bottle feed. And one puppy isn't doing so well. But I called my local vet and she said to feed him half carnation milk and half water with a tad of honey for taste. That might help too. Good luck!!!!
Sorry about your puppies mother. My vet recommended ESBILAC for my puppies. It comes in a can ready to use and also in a powder form. Your puppy should be feed with a bottle (found in pet store) every 2-3 hours until full. If milk starts coming out of his/her nose, then your puppy is too full. Try to keep your puppy warm. You can put rice in a sock and warm it up for a couple of seconds in the microwave. Place the sock next to your pup and he/she will stay warm. Or you could also use a heating pad (on low) under a towel. If you do this, make sure you give room for your pup to get out of the warmth if he/she wants to. Hope your pup grows up to be healthy!
Give it puppy replacement milk, as the mother died your puppy is more prone to diseases. After 4 weeks start giving some 4 parts of solid food with one part of water, puppy food is recommended. After 8 weeks feed your puppy twice a day.
My dog gave birth two days ago everything was going well but, now she doesn't want to eat and abandoned her puppies. How can I care for all 8 puppies? Please give me tips on ways to keep the puppies alive. What's wrong with my dog?
I have 3 10 day's old puppies , the mother is missing, and the puppies dad died today (horrible) and I'm scared that the puppies may die, were giving them esbilac, and I'm not sure if they will live with that, I don't want my puppies to die, and one of them wont drink the milk, you said to add water and honey, does that really work?, please tell me ways to keep the puppies alive
You can go to walmart and get puppy formula and the pup needs to be fed every 3-4 hours sorry the mom died!!!!best of luck!!!
I say that the puppies need to be feed every two hours, three depending how much they ate in there last feeding. So sorry about the mother and good luck. You will do fine!!
