Excessive panting in dogs can be due to many reasons like

1. Heartworm
2. Hypothyroidism
3. Poisoning
4. Anemia
5. Fever
6. Conditions of fear and excitement

You should note the temperature of your dog. If she is having fever then she might be suffering from milk fever. This condition occurs in nursing dogs especially when they have to feed large litter and had poor diet during pregnancy. Cause of this condition is low levels of calcium in blood. Treatment of milk fever includes intake of calcium through mouth and IV fluids and puppies are hand raised. So, you should take your dog to vet for proper diagnosis and treatment.
