Some Benadryl? The key to medicines is not that you administer them, but that you give the right dosage. Benadryl is a very good antihistamine, and needs to be administered at 1 milligram per pound of the dog's weight, three times a day. This should help with any allergies that your dog has, especially if they are related to ticks, insect bites or the environment.

If you are giving the right dosage, and have not seen any changes, then it is important that you find out what the allergy is to and treat the cause directly. For instance, if your dog has fleas, then you need to get flea medication and treat the dog. If the dog has an allergy to something in it's food, then you need to talk to your vet about changing it's diet. It is possible to get allergy testing done, and this will help you in finding out exactly where the problem lies.
