I am not sure what you mean by "carrying the puppy in her chest".  The uterus in dogs is not located in the chest cavity and dogs to not hide their puppies under their rib cage.  If you dog is pregnant with a normal sized litter she should be showing prominent abdominal distention at this stage of the pregnancy.  It is possible your dog is not pregnant or may have a singleton litter.  To make sure your dog has a healthy pregnancy and delivery have her examined by a veterinarian.  A x-ray will confirm pregnancy at this stage of gestation (pregnancy) and is the best way to estimate number of puppies.

I'm sorry Dr. Falk. We took her for the ultrasound and the DVM noticed only 1 bubble. He had a hard time finding it and noticed the bubble high. Rib Cage? This will be the only time we try for her to have a litter. Too hard on me. Will she show more in a couple of days or remain the same? Her rib cage is larger than normal.

With only one puppy her abdomen may not distend as much as with a full litter. If your rib cage has increased this could be a sign she is pregnant. It is good to know the breeding date so you know when to watch for labor. Monitor the body temperature when it drops below 99 degrees Fahrenheit she should deliver within 24 hours. Also an x-ray will confirm pregnancy at this point--you will see the puppy on x-ray.

No it is perfectly normal for her to be carrying the pup that long. And did you say it was being carried in her chest? I am a vet and the pup is just developing more
