It looks like you may have found someone’s pet. This snake is more than likely a type of corn snake. Corn snakes come in a wide variety of colours which range from the deepest blacks to the lightest yellows and even white or albino. When the eggs hatch, the baby snakes may be eight to 12 inches in length. Corn snakes can grow to up to five feet in length. They are closely related to the rat and king snakes and are a part of the colubrid family of snakes. This orange and yellow beauty’s name is the amelanistic (or amel for short) corn snake and is also known as the candy corn snake for its colours likeness to that popular, sweet treat. They can also have spots instead of strips. The word amelanotic means, 'Containing little or no melanin' or albino. They lack the darker hues like the browns and the blacks. Amel corn snakes are the type of snakes which are a combination of an albino snake and some other type of corn snake crossbreeding, which happens often in captivity. This is done to get that ‘wow’ effect, and amel snakes are very popular as pet reptiles. Amel corn snakes can be found in the wild in the southern parts of the United States. They can be found as far east as Virginia and as far south as Texas. Amel corn snakes are harmless, and are as safe as your garden variety garter or tree snake. Amel make their meal from  eating small rodents and insects.

It's probably just a hatchling. If it's a corn snake.. it's harmless... but I don't know Jamaican snakes.. make sure the shape of the head is the same, ,then you can be fairly sure. If you can post a pic, I'd be better able to say. Do you know if there are corn snakes in Jamaica?
