What Should I Feed My Pregnant Hamster?

I am a vet specializing in small animals. Some people say to feed them your normal food, which is perfectly OK. However, for best results, feed them lots of protein, not only for the milk. A momma hamster will devour her own babie(s) for the protein after birth if she hasn't previously been fed enough. Make sense?

You need to feed them a lot of protein eggs bread dipped in milk vegetables meat and lots of water for breast milk

Feed them the same thing. If you want to be real specific you should feed them lots of protein for the milk.

Give her lots of protein in her diet and sometimes give er little pieces of meat

I think that as long as your food has sunflower seeds in it and you add some fresh veggies you should be fine!

Hamster food. You don't need to treat them any different just because they're pregnant. Commercial hamster food provides perfectly adequate nutrition for almost all conditions.
