Well, hamster bite when they fear for their lives or when they are just a bit stroppy. If when your hamster bites you, your hand moves away then it has got used to thinking, if I bite it it will go away. As hamster bites don't really hurt, when you get bitten, do not move away. Instead stay still for a minute and then continue whatever it was you were doing. If you repeat this then your hamster will learn that biting gets it no where and should stop

You have to let it get used to you to do this you should first talk to him every day just a little but then he will get used to your voice and if he gets bored he will listen out for your voice and start to enjoy your company when this happens start to have more contact you can show him that you are the one feeding him and watering him also show him that you are the one cleaning him out making sure he is healthy and caring for him, you can now start to put your hand in the cage  when you put your hand in the cage talk to him as if your having a conversation he may bite but probably wont even if he is sniffing around your hand continue talking so he can start to recognise your sent then when he knows its you putting your hand in you can start to hand feed him he will usually take the food he may snatch at first he may think its ab-it of a trap but just show him that its safe when he takes the food gladly you could try to encourage him to climb up onto your hand make sure your hand is steady when your doing it or bites may start happening when he is confident at climbing on your hand make him go on your hand then raise him up to your chest you can stroke him with two finger and he wont bite you this may take awhile but it works really well oh and my hamsters are called pip and pop there twin boys raised by me from birth x

If it sniffs your finger then bites it, I would say that it thinks your finger is food. Wash your hands beforehand incase they smell of food and(since a hamster has bad eyesight), he/she will mistake it for food and bite you.

Put the hamster away and run the wound under icy cold water.

Clean your cut with soap, water and hydrogen peroxide.  And put your hamster in the timeout for about two minutes.
