Agree with the latter 2 responses. Its a fact cats have much greater hearing than dogs, dogs just act differently than cats and alert you. Dogs sense of smell however is far greater.
Yes, cats can hear a greater frequency range ( 45 - 64,000 Hz) than dogs do (67-45,000 Hz).
Having a greater frequency doesn't mean that they hear better, just that hey hear MORE.

No they do not, a way you can tell is that dogs howl when a storm is miles away but cats do nothing :P
