A chameleon is the name given to a squamate which is a part of one of the most popular lizard families. Chameleons differ largely in their sizes as well as their body structure; hence without knowing what kind of chameleon you are referring to, it would be difficult to predict its growth at the given age. Chameleons can measure anywhere from one inch to twenty-four inches, fully matured. Some chameleons grow faster than the other species in the family.

Chameleons do not have very long life spans; however the pets tend to outlive their wild counterparts. Chameleons have a speedy sexual maturity growth and can be fully sexually mature at the age of 6 months to one year old.

Chameleons have good temperaments generally and make for good pets. However one has to be completely knowledgeable about them in order o take proper care of them.
