Why Not Touch Baby Hamsters?

Well... The reason why not to touch baby hamsters is because when you touch them the smell on your hand will be all over the babies body, so the mother hamster will think that's not my baby and she will eat them all if you want to clean the cage of something I suggest you take a spoon and try to put them on ( not with you hands) but also remember to keep them with there mother for 4 weeks ok? Its sick. I don't know why they do this, but they do. So the reason is that your human scent rubs off onto the baby, and the mother disowns it, thinking the baby is a danger, or not hers. She might even devour it. This is my opinion, but its disgusting. When I looked this up, I thought this was totally wrong.

The mother will swallow them because she thinks they are in dangered

The smell of your hands will rub off onto the baby and the mother won't care for it any more

The scent on your hands will rub off on the baby hamster. The mom will think that the hamster is not her baby and she will abandon them or sometimes even eat them.
