My Puppy's Father Is A Blue Nose American Pit Bull Terrier.... And The Mom Is A Red-nose American Pit Bull. Now Does That Make My Puppy A Red-nose? My Bf Says No, But If That's The Case, How Come We Have Blue-nose Pups Also?...

I'm not an expert on dogs but my dad breeds dogs and he never has an expected outcome.... Depending on the color is what the individual puppy itself will be.... Some puppies take traits from the mother, others take them from the father, and some can have no physical traits the same as either parent.... So I would say that if the puppy has a red nose it would be considered red nosed and if it blue nose then it would be considered blue nosed

Your bf is correct. Pit Bulls (American Pit Bull Terriers) are bred in every possible genetic combination. They come in virtually every color under the sun from brindle to black to tan and the same goes for their noses. Red Noses, Blue Noses, and Black Noses are NOT a genetic anomaly and are actually quite common in the APBT lineage. This means that all the people that categorize their dog by the color of their nose because they thinks its special, are sorely mistaken. The color is just a color. If your dog has a blue nose than it is a blue nose. And if all your puppies have blue noses that doesnt mean anything. Genetics are basically handed down by chance. For example if your dad has brown hair and your mom has blonde you could have brown, blonde or red hair.

Because there are more genes for the blue nose pit bull so they would take over and there still could be red nose pit bulls too

You can have either color I have seen breeders who will breed blues but sometimes breed them to red and you never know what color to expect.

What color is her nose. I have had the same combo also and in the litter there was one pup that had a red nose and then his bother had a black nose. You can have all sorts of different colors in one litter. That is good because that pup has different colors in its background. When you go to breed that pup it can throw off many colors. I like having different colors in litters they sell better.

Yea, this was his & her first liter...so we got 8 pups all together! We got 3 blues, 2 red-noses, 3 black-noses! The red colored pups have red-noses, but a slight gray outline around it? So I wasn't sure because of that too, I just didn't know. But I was so lucky, they all turned out beautiful & healthy! They really are a great breed, I don't care what all the meanies say!

I understand what you are saying I don't like it when people passes judgement on things they have no clue to. If they was to raise a pit of their own and treat it right then they too would realize what we are saying and just maybe tell everyone that these breeds are good and that they were wrong.

I have mixed littler of blue/ rednoses. The dad razors edge- the mom redboy juko and they have both red and blue noses, it just depends what color dna your pup was given from the start from dad or mom, if your pups nose is red- its a rednose- if its blue- its a bluenose. But if your dog was to breed it would produce blue and red pups also!!! So your dog does have blue in his/her blood and red in his/her blood

When I walk her anywhere someone always wants me to breed her with there Male. Shes a very loving dog to people and other animals especially her best friend Smokey the cat! I Love this breed! My first pit lived 17 years she was the smartest dog ever and my new baby is following in her foot steps.
