It depends on why you are taking them away.. There is a law in your state you should call the animal control and they will be able to tell you legally.. The normal age to be given away varies to how far the kitten is to being weined, that happens with feeding them gruel...4-6 weeks.. If the mother is not available you can welp but that is a lot of work and you can not always predict if they will live.. You really should contact any vet they should be able to help you more.. 8-10 weeks is adviseable.... When the mother cat has taught them all they need to know about survival and hunting!! Or if mummy cat is not feeding them.... You will have to take over the role..... Very hard work!!!!!
You can take them at about 6 or 7 weeks. Hope this helps.
Kittens can be taken from their mothers at 8 weeks. Or, when they start to eat cat food.
You can take the newborn from their mother at age 6 months
