The mother hamster felt threated when you cleaned so she ate the babies 2 protect them OR she simply stuffed them in her cheek pockets & will put them in the nest (this has happend 2 me she didnt eat them she stuffed them in her cheeks)

You are not meant to touch the hamster while she is looking after her pup's she will eat them if she feels threatened or stressed.

No, the reason why she eat them was because you need to leave them along for a while. And you don't need to separate them because they arent 5 Weeks old and the mother wont eat anymore as long as you leave her along for a while.

Hamster mother's eat their babies for a variety of reasons.  If the mother thinks the babies are threatened, if they are genetically inferior are just two of the reasons.  You should have not cleaned the cage at this point.  At two weeks, the babies are just starting to open their eyes, so the mother might have thought they were in danger and ate them.  I am sorry this happened.

Please do NOT breed the mother again as breeding her too soon could cause genetic defects in the next litter and could possibly cause the death of the mother.

You are not suppose to clean the cage out while she still has her babies it will make her nervous clean it out before she has her babies and when she does feed her lots of hamster food and hard boiled eggs my hamster has nine babies and there all fine just leave her alone and she probably didnt eat them she probably stuffed them in her cheek pockets to take them to the nest

You should NEVER touch the pups while they are young. At 4 weeks you can touch them to see what sex they are and seperate the boys and the girls, but the girls can go in the same cage as the mother. Then at 7-8 weeks you could sell them or give them away to freinds or family or to a pet shop! I hope this helps you!!

If the mother feels the babies are threatened she will eat them.  You must leave them alone when they are born for 2-4 weeks and just let her do her job.  If she picks up any scent of you on the babies (ie when you clean the cage) she will kill them.  Don't separate the hamsters until they are about 4-5 weeks old and then you can keep females together and males together for another couple of weeks.  After this they will start fighting and can kill each other so will need separate cages.
