Keeping it warm is one way to know if it is something related to cold or not. Sometimes Hamsters shiver and shake if they are scared of something. I hope you do not give bath to this little creature because hamsters are not supposed to take bathe in water. What you can do in order to make it more relaxed is keep on patting and stroking it lovingly so that it feel more secure and comfortable. Do not change its place where it sleeps so that it can have sense of belonging and security from that very spot.
Does your hamster have enough nesting materials to keep himself warm at night? When he is shivering is there anything else going on that might be scaring him while he is trying to sleep… Any type of noises or something else along this line?
This is the same as mine and I can not work out what is wrong with her either, I'm taking her to the vets but they could be too cold? Also is yours eating normally and drinking normally?
My hamster does it too if I make a noise or move suddenly I think it makes him jump .he doesnt start shaking properly he just sort of suddenly jolts backwards .I think he is just a bit shy
He might be cold because of the snow it happened to mine to. I just put him by a radiator
I got my hamster yesterday but everytime I hold him he is shaking? Is he sick or scared? He doesnt run away though, plus he is a baby dwarf hamster
My hamster is shaking and not drinking very much he is only new but he fell off my bed yesterday what should I do
My hamster is doing it too and I think she is dying. :'( she is also unable to open her eyes
I just got my hamster yesterday & he's only 5 weeks old. He's a teddy bear hamster. He's been fine but I left to the store and when I got home I took him out to hold him and he kept shaking. Is he okay?
Its probably scared or something
:( Unfortunately ours started doing this last night... We took her to the vets and she was put down.
Syrian's get brain tumours very easily, and this affects their motor neurone ability...
Take your hamster to the vet if she/he starts shaking violently...
