You have not given complete details of your dog's condition. If your dog has recently delivered puppies then it is normal that she is having milk in the breast. If your dog was not pregnant during last heat cycle then it can be false pregnancy. False pregnancy symptoms appear 6-12 weeks after last heat cycle. Hormonal changes during heat cycle of dogs are major cause of false pregnancy. False pregnancy symptoms are self treated within 2-3 weeks.

Increased prolactin levels due to hypothyroidism is another cause. Another possibility is tumor in the pituitary gland which cause increase in the prolactin hormone. Increased levels of this hormone can cause milk production in dogs at wrong. You can also visit your local vet and discuss this problem.

My dog has gone through her first heat about 3 month ago and has also formed large teats/udders.  No milk is expressed from them but they have yet to go away.  Her vet said it was a false pregnancy which was the case but still her entire belly has 10 udders and they haven't gone away. I need some suggestions too?
