O goodness! A pitbull is definitely NOT number one. Especially if you have small children. Every dog has its pros and cons, its needs and cares. You should look up in a dog book or ask a vet the right type of dog for you life style, but overall, here is my opinionated list of top ten dogs.
1. Golden retriever
3. Cavalair king charles spaniel (i have one now and it he is an amazingly fast learner and playful and a loyal lap dog.)
5.siberian husky (favorite)
6.new found land
7.yorkie (they are very yippie though)
9.german shepard (some attack)
and yes i could name 10 or more then 10 dog breeds
First of all a "Pit Bull" isn't a breed of dog recognized by any breed club. It is a category. Many dogs fit into that category including three of the AKC recognized dogs, the American Staffordshire Terrier, The Staffordshire Bull Terrier and the Bull Terrier. Other dogs may include the American Bull Dog, recognized by the ADBA and the American Pit Bull Terrier, also recognized with the ADBA. Both the last stated dogs have breed standards, just like the AKC requires. A common Pit Bull is considered anything that is a mix between any of the Afore mentioned dogs, 1st or 2nd generation.
Dogue De Bordeaux,
English Cocker Spaniel,
Jack Russell Terrier, sometimes called the Parson's Terrier or the Parson's Jack Russell Terrier.
