If your female dog is stuck to a male dog, they are most definitely in the act of having sex. But it does not mean the female is pregnant. The female must be in heat to become pregnant, and with sex with any other animal, sex does not necessarily mean that the female has become impregnated.

Dog breeding is the practice of mating selected dogs with the intention of producing very specific qualities in the offspring. Dogs in the wild are governed by the laws of natural selection, but domestic dogs have long been intentionally bred by their owners and over the years have greatly increased the number of dog breeds.

Dogs have long been known as man's best friend and for good reason. Since pre-historic times they have performed a number of duties for men such as sheep herding, acting as guardians, and hunting dogs. To maintain dogs in these roles man has long bred dogs with other selected dogs with the express intent of encouraging those characteristics in their offspring.

This is the process by which only a few very breeds of dogs a few thousand years ago to today's population of dog breeds that now numbers in the hundreds. Dog breeding has come a long way now since breeders have become aware of sciences like genetics that can help them breed better dogs more often than in the past when breeders had no clue about dominant and recessive genes.

If you do not want to breed your female dog, you must pay attention and know the signs of when your dog is in heat, and take steps to keep males dogs way during this period. It is in your best interest to have a dog shed where you can keep your female dog until you are ready to breed her to the stud of your choice, to get the kind of offspring that you desire.

Tie is one of the event of mating in dogs during which penis swells after penetration in vagina. Average time of tie in dogs can be 15-20 minutes. Tie can be for short duration as 2 minutes to long duration of 30 minutes. Tie in dogs during mating is not necessary for pregnancy but this part of mating can increase the chances of pregnancy.

So, pregnancy in dogs does not depends upon tie during mating and dogs can be pregnant without tie and may not be pregnant even with the tie. Because pregnancy is dependent upon quality of sperms of male dogs and presence of eggs in females. There can be more factors responsible for canine pregnancy and pregnancy can occur only when all factors are within normal range.

Yes...chances are she will become pregnant unless the sperm does not take. 9 out of 10 times if they get hooked up together the female does become pregnant. Your dog should be fine though. People say not to breed them there first heat and that is right but the reason they say that is because it puts stress on the dogs body and usually there bodys are still immature but the dog should be fine. She should be able to have the puppies fine. I know a man who purposely bred his bull dog the first heat and the mom and the babies were fine. Just if able take her to the vet soon and they can do a ultra sound and you can get the vet to continue to check her through out her pregnancy. Hope all goes well.

Yes, yes, and yes!  It is VERY possibly for the dog to become pregnant if they get stuck together the first time.  This happened to my two Shih-Tzu's in mid-October (it was BOTH their first time and they only got stuck together once--the female was only 8 months old), and we had a litter of one puppy on December 12th--a very healthy, fat baby girl).

If you are looking to breed your Bitch, take note of date when she starts her menstral cycle. Keep checking and if it's dark red, don't even bother the male because she is not ready. Wait until your Bitch's color starts to turn pink at the last quarter of her cycle and then introduce her to the male. She should then be willing and although it might take the two of you...One to hold her head and be calm and soothing while talking to her, your partner can help with the placement of the Penis, so it's not too bothersome to her and it will always happen. I've done it that way with my Greyhounds years ago and I never missed a pregnancy. But you have to wait until she shows pink not red!

Tie during mating in dogs is not necessary for pregnancy. It can facilitate the conception but not an important part of the mating because dogs can get pregnant even without having a tie. Swelling of penis in the vagina of the female dog result in tie that can last for 2-30 minutes.

Male dogs release sperms immediately after penetration while during tie, only prostate secretions are released. That is why, tie is not important during mating in dogs for pregnancy. If dogs are tied during mating then by force separation can damage both male and female.

No, it does not definitely mean she is pregnant, Its quite common for the male to get stuck inside the female during mating but its nothing to worry about. But if she is pregnant I would advise you take her to a vet and ask what the best course of action is, a dog that young can take on allot of damage having pups at such an early age.
