It's heart-breaking when a kitten of any age dies. A newborn kitten can die from illness; being too cold; not getting enough sustenance from it's mother for one reason or another; being too weak to fight for a milk supply against other bigger, stronger kitten siblings; just being too small. Sometimes kittens don't grow properly during pregnancy and although they might look right on the outside, they may not be properly formed on their insides. Often there is nothing you can do to save a little one ~ it's out of our hands, depending on the problem.
