I give them to my dogs, on the recommendation of my vet, for continuing allergic reactions. Be careful though, especially if you have a small dog. My 150 pound Great Dane takes 150 mg per dose. The vet recommended it also for my niece's puppy, when he had a bad reaction to a vaccine. He ( a small rat terrier) got 7 to 8 mg, but then, he doesn't even weigh 10 pounds yet. Looks like about 1 mg per pound
I do. One benadryl and matted area gone the next morning. Try it. It didn't hurt my dog. Actually kept me from making that trip to the Vet.
