Yes, they certainly can .  I have friends whose son lost the sight of one eye , because his dog licked his face while carrying a disease .

It is highly rare for a human to catch dog viruses. Only like two diseases can be transfered, which is one of the most rarest diseases I've ever heard of. So don't count on ever getting it, but dogs can get diseases from other dogs. Hope the info helped, thank you for reading,

Yep they have tonsils so they can be good at passing strep throat around

The rhabdo virus which cause rabies are transferred from the infected dog to the one whom the dog bites.....
