There is a condition that hamsters get called "wet tail", and it's a result of a bacterial infection that causes diarrhea (which is mushy, pale and often has white mucous in it) -- could this be what is happening to your pet? The hamster will curl or hunch up a lot because it's gut is in pain, and if this is the case, it may be dehydrating.
