There are two plants I know of that naturally repel mosquito's. Lemon grass and chleome will both keep them out. I think that's how you spell it. They both work pretty good. You can even rub the lemon grass on you to give yourself extra protection. Marigolds are good for bugs, not sure about skeeters tho. ♥
I've used it a little, and my husband got mad at me for using his Listerine. Haha. It seems to work though.

Pesticides are the first choice, but the other home remedy is to take dawn dish soap, and put it in a spray mixer for your water hose, and spray your yard with it, every inch of it. It will also get rid of certain insects as well, like fleas, and ants. They also don't like bay leaves, cedar chips, or salt.
Water,chewing tobacco,and dish soap,marinate together and let stand for a day or two and then spray on the grass,
