Our male Shar Pei is now 8 months old and seems to be developing very small 'patches' of fur loss. When looking closer at the small patches (not more than a cm in size - but all over him in blotches) there is nothing evident to the eye of any anomaly. He eats well, is very well tempered. Living in South Africa this is his first real summer and I was hoping that someone could confirm if this is just his 'summer coat' and he is shedding the longer fur because it is so hot? Any advice much appreciated. Rob & Yvonne.
My Shar Pei Is Losing Patches Of Hair All Over And Has Dandruff Bad He Had Fleas Bad But I Got Rid Of Them And I Don't See Any On Him Why Is This?
If there is no more dandruff there but still there is loss of hair then your dog is suffering from a fungus that is called Dermatophytes. It is also called as Ringworm. This type of fungi survives on the exterior of the skin as well as within the skin follicles feeding on lifeless skin tissue and hair. You have to take care of its cleanliness and take it to vet for check up and treatment. There is a herbal medicines which can cure this disease. Its name is PetAlive Ring-Ex. It treats and stops the spread of this disease infection.
