Please get her a training crate. That is the best thing to do. I have a female shepherd also and the crate works wonders. Get the crate only as big enough for the pup to turn around and lay down in it. They won't poop or pee where they lay as long as the kennel is not too big. They can stay in them usually for 8-10 hours before they need to go to the bathroom. That gives you time when you go to work and get back or if you just go out for a while. But DO NOT leave her in too long she needs lots of exercise also. IT WORKED WONDERS FOR ME.! It is also like a safe haven for them to go when she does something she's not supposed to, you tell her to go to her place everytime and she'll learn not to destroy things QUICK!

Ok, when your gone, you should put her in a kennel. If your asleep, either put her outside, or in a kennel. If you do put her in a kennel, make sure to take her outside right when you get up or come home so she can do her bisness. If your gone for long periods of time, try taking her to a local puppy care, or a local dog kennel. That way, you don't have to worry about asking a nieghbor or friend to take care of her in your absence.

We also have a German Shepard, and she acts up like that sometimes when she is not getting enough exercise. I would highly recommend taking her for walks everyday, or playing fetch. This should help, but if she still does it a lot then I would just try to show her what she did wrong and say no, then make her go lay down for about 15 minutes or so without letting her get up or have any attention. It's kinda like a doggy time out I guess. If that doesn't work over time, I would recommend getting a kennel to put her in when your gone or asleep. If you do end up getting a kennel and she cries while she is in it, putting a sheet or blanket over it so she can't see out usually helps.

Well, I don't agree with what Anna_M said about showing the dog what it did wrong lol, dogs don't think that way thats just silly, they don't see things like we do and they don't know the value of objects like us, you can't show a dog something they did and expect them to understand what they have done was wrong because dogs only think of doing things when they are doing it and not after, thats why they look guilty when you come home because you yell and tell them off, They are not children in other words they are dogs. But I do think she needs more exercise and try giving her a stuffed kong or chew before you go out and get a dog crate for her to go in at night and when you are out.
