First, there is no such thing as teacup in any breed so you should never get from a breeder who uses those terms as they are either unethical or lack knowledge in most cases and it does not bod well for you and your new family member. How big are you talking about? Breeding and care are always a factor. Dogs under 4 1/2 pounds or so don't tend to make it too long. Sometimes it's a serious health problem or more causing the small size. If not their tiny body's just can't seem to keep up and they tend to make it an average of around 8 or 9 years or so. 4 1/2 pounds or so and over can average 12 to about 18 years and sometimes even more.
