Signs of an ear infection include red ear pinnae, shaking head, rubbing or pawing ears, smelly ears, and discharge from ears. Allergies generally present as itching of feet, ears, and other areas of the body. The skin is often very red, has bumps (papules), poor hair coat, and sometimes hair loss. Allergies can make the eyes water. Allergies would have to be very severe to cause anorexia, lethargy, and change in behavior. Does your dog have any upper respiratory signs? Unfortunately anorexia, lethargy, and change in behavior are very vague signs in dogs, please have your veterinarian do an exam to make sure nothing serious is wrong with your Pomeranian.
