For a standard American Eskimo Dog the size should be from fifteen inches to nineteen inches. There are some other sizes also that are recommended for this breed of dog; if you have the toy version the size should be from nine inches to twelve inches. The size of the miniature version is about twelve to fifteen inches.

If you are interested in gaining knowledge about the type of this breed of dog, you can classify it in three categories. One is called the non-sporting variety while another one is known as the miscellaneous variety. The third category is called the northern breed.

It gained its popularity in the third and fourth decade of the twentieth century as a circus dog.
