Do Dogs Eat Rabbits?

Last night my lab/Beagle ate a rabbit, he would run off every time I started to come near him, he was very aggressive and I have little dought that if I would have tried to put the leash on him he would have bit me. He is not normally aggressive with his food, should I be concerned about this behavior.
