I am in that very same prediciment. Callie had her first heat 2 months ago and she was 8 months old. Dogs had no way of getting to her except our 6 pound chihuahua. She is almost 60 pounds a pit bull cross. We breed chihuahua's so I know how to feel for puppies but I can't feel much in her. It is frustrating because I am trying to get my parents to take her the the vet and they just wont.
