I waited until my female was three years old before breeding her. She was around 8 pounds prior to getting pregnant. I mated her with my 3 pound male as I wanted the male to be smaller than the female....it just makes giving birth a lot easier on the female. Little did I know it would only cause a litter of eight puppies. Those pups are around two and a half years old now and are all doing fine. I bred her a second time and ten pups popped out. One didn't make it as he was extremely small and the vet just couldn't do anything further for him. I recently bred her for the last time.....this is to avoid over breeding her, and she had 13 this time. The last pup came out stillborn, but the vet got him all squared away in no time. There are some extremely small ones and some extremely huge ones in this litter. I know some will ask....yes they are both purebred and registered. It is just breeding what some would call a deer head with an apple head. They are both chi's and both come from the same standard so there is no worries with breeding the two. They have produced 5 teacups, and a few floppy eared pups.
I have a black, 6-7 lb. Pure-bred chihuahua who had 7 babies in one litter. Six of them
were from a neighbor's brown/black chihuahua and one is black and white and looks
like a little cow and don't know who his father is. She was in labor from 11:30-5 pm
in the evening and all of her pups are healthy and beautiful.
It all depend on the size of the chihuahua. Even that is not always true. Some can have just one and others can have up to 8 or more. Keep in mind the more they have the smaller they are. Hopes this helps
My chihuahua just had a first litter of puppies. She had 4...I am worried she won't have enough milk to feed them....she's a toy and the dad is a teacup....
Well mine is on her 3rd litter her first was 3 pups her second was 4 and just got her ultrasound and now she has 6! And the vet says she needs a c section but I'm weary about that becouse she has had 2 litter on her own great but 6! I'm kinda worried! My girl is 8 pnd and the dad is also 8 pnds if that helps I hope! I wish you luck!
Well my chihuahua is an akc toy she had 8 and all of them were really healthy it all depends on the size of her torso
I have a AKC teacup (3lbs) chihuahua and she just had 3 puppies all very healthy, And my other purebred toy (7lbs) chihuahua had 6 very healthy puppies her first litter. Although I am very lucky most teacups have a lot of problems delivering puppies and most don't make it. Luckily all of her's made it. Please breed responsibly. Hope this helps.
Depends on the dog. How many did you feel moving inside her?? She should have had the other with in a few hours if not minutes. A long with all the placentas for each puppy. Keep a close eye on dog! They USUALLY CARRY NO MORE THAN 3.
Puppies usually have only about 2,3,4,5 or maybe 7 puppies, all depending on how old it is and it's weight.
They usually have between 1 and 4.
My 5 pound chihuahua has had puppies 2 times, times she had 3,
not going to breed her any more cause she so tiny.
My chihuahua just gave birth to two puppies, first one was hanging out by its head and was not in the sack.2nd one she took 30 minutes to have it and was coming bottom first. What happened that this happened like this.I'm very blind to having dogs having puppies. I never intended for her to have puppies.she was given to me for my birthday and so I didint know how old she was and my pom mated with her.
Check her nipples. That is the number of puppies she could go up to, though that doesn't really mean she will have that many.
I am getting a pure bred chihuahua and then we are getting a male were going to breed her when she is one year old how much do you think she might have?
