A Chihuahua will usually have up to four puppies but sometimes can even only have one.

If your Chihuahua‘s mate was smaller than her, she can probably stay at home to have her puppies naturally. They more often than not though, have to have a Caesarean delivery due to the size of the puppies’ heads. You will have to take your pregnant Chihuahua to your vet frequently so that they can monitor her pregnancy.
