To train a cat to use the litter box put the cat in the litter box every 10 to 15 mis and hold their front paws and scratch their front paws into the cat litter as though they were digging. Each time you put the kitten in the litter box they only need to be there for 5-10 seconds each time and they may want to jump out right away but as long as you scratched the litter with their paws don't discourage them from leaving however it is a good sign if they stay in on their own for a second or two before coming out. Once they have successfully used the litter box once thats great because now they will smell it and know to go there for next time. Even though they will know to use the litter based on their smell its best to show them where their litter box is located as they may not be able to find the litter bin right away before you know they will be on their way. I used this method on my new kitten brought him home yesturday and he's 5 weeks old and he was using the box before I went to bed and he didn't pee or poop anywhere in my home he just needs a little guidence finding the bin.
What I did was plopped my kitten on top of the liter. She got the hang of it right away.Start out with kitten food that's grounded and not chopped.
Well give the cat food thats grinded, not chopped andevery time right after she eats bring her to the litter box unti she goes there by herslef. She'll get the hang of it right away.
