Yes, dogs do get their own version of the flu called canine flu. It has similar symptoms to us humans and can be prevented by avoiding groom shops and kennels, keeping your dog away from large dog populated areas and avoiding stray dogs. Unfortunately though, unlike us humans the dogs can be healthy even when affected. The best thing to do is if you think your dog may have been affected by canine flu consult your vet. The condition is relatively new so therefore treatment has been limited to IV fluids and broad spectrum antibiotics.

Yes, dogs can get flues just like a human can. The virus that the dog has is another strain of the human flu virus. It causes almost the same type of symptoms but it can only cause the flu in dogs.

I have the flu.. My pomeranian got hold of some of the tissues I was using to blow my nose although I was trying to be diligent about keeping them thrown away and out of his reach. Now he is exhibiting some of the same symptoms I am. Can he catch it from me?

Yes because the flu is a virus and is not limited to humans, that's why they have had names like swine flu, where a stain of flu was found in pigs and humans contracted it.  Also, geese, who are immune to the flu are the worst culprits at spreading it as when they migrate north to south, and vise versa, the contract new strains, forms, of the flu and spread it with their dropping. Poo  That is one of the main ways it is spread

She sounds like shes in labour! If this isn't possible then it could be a stomach bug which will resolve itself in a couple of days. If she gets very unwell though, take her to a vet immediately.
