Yes, but I wouldn't do it without talking to a vet first. My cat has a condition bordering on megacolon (bad constipation), and our vet prescribed half a senokot, once a day.
Also, try switching to wet food (for extra water), mixing in some canned pumpkin (for fibre) and a little bit of oil. (For lubrication. I use olive.) All of these things will aid in making the stool soft, and passable.
