My Hamster seemed calm. She didn't eat any food on the day she had them, and she made a big neat nest. She just had them on Tuesday. She had 7 healthy pups! Also you shouldn't handle the babies until their 2 weeks. Once their 2 weeks look at their tummies, girls have dots. If you have to move them use a spoon. I've have 7, 8, and then 7 babies in each litter. If you have any more questions just ask me. So far I've had 3 hamster litters.

Hello, I bought my hamster 10 days ago just to bring her home and notice she's pregnant. She is a Syrian hamster and today I noticed she was lazy but it could be my imagination, as in very excited for the pups! But she usually sleeps and relaxes in a ball but today she's been laying stretched out on her stomach, should I be concerned or get ready for pups

Here is are pics of my mouse before she gave birth... s222.photobucket.com They will look for a place to nest and will store food everywhere making a mess, but leave her alone! Put her in a quiet room and do not disturb her. Make sure she has the basics food and clean water and leave it at that. If she gets stressed in labor she might eat her young or delay her labor putting the pups at risk. After she has them don't clean her cage or handle the pups it could cause her to abandon them and they could starve to death or become her food. It is best to wait on the cleaning until after she weans them just to be safe and by that time you will see them begin to eat out of the food dish same as her. Here are some pics of my mouses babies... s222.photobucket.com I wish you luck!

Which hamster you are having. It can take 17-22 days depending upon the species of the hamster. It is very difficult to tell about the signs of labor in hamster. But I am sure about one thing that just before and after the delivery, hamster are very aggressive and can bite you when try to touch her. There might be slight bleeding at the time of delivery and the whole process can take 30-90 minutes.

I think my teddy bear hamster is pregnant but not sure. I have 5 kids and they put the 2 together.
She seems heavy to the touch but doesn't look it unless she is in a ball. She is a calm hammy but yesterday and today she does not want to be touched. They were together 4 days while I was not home so don't know if they did anything or on what day. I do know that from friday to monday should be the 16th day. But she is not showing. She does have a nest but always does this one is just taller than norm. Today is her most active day in a while, running in the wheel, eating, exploring cage. Do you think she is prego? And wouldn't she be showing by now?
