Yes, the mucus plug will come away first, then the water from the sacs that surround the kittens as they emerge.

If you don't think your cat is pregnant, then it could be an infection. But you should get her checked out by a vet anyway.

If your cat is leaking mucus or blood before nine weeks of pregnancy (the typical length of cat pregnancy) then you should take her to the vet immediately as this could be a sign of miscarriage.

Miscarriages can be potentially dangerous to the mother cat so, if you're worried, it would be wise to take a trip to the local veterinary practice anyway.
