The simple answer to this question is that no, you shouldn't be concerned if your dog is shedding more than normal unless your dog is scratching itself a lot more or if you have noticed that the skin underneath the fur is damaged. If this is the case then you should take your dog to the vets to ensure that it has the right treatment for the condition that it has, however if this is not the case then you can be sure that your dog is still as fit and healthy if it is shedding more than normal but you are going to need to make sure that all of the extra fur is removed so they are as comfortable as they can be.

During the season it is a good idea to ensure that you groom your dog on a regular basis and this is going to get rid of any fur that it may be shedding. If you have noticed that your dog is shedding more than usual you will need to ensure that you are grooming as much as possible so the extra fur can be taken care of.

You will have nothing to worry about as all dogs are different each season, it will depend on how much fur they have over winter and how hot it is during the summer months. You can be sure that there is nothing to worry about if they seem as happy and as healthy as they usually do.

Do your bit to make your dog happy and cool during the hotter months and you will find that they are going to be shedding less fur after you have been grooming them. Shedding more than normal is nothing to be worried about and it shouldn't be at the height if your concern.

There are some breeds of the dogs which are the heavier shedders of the hair and fur. If you have noticed that your dog is doing it more than it normally does, then you should get good dog grooming tool. Brush its hair on daily basis and also do not worry because it will get normal again after the season. You will never be able to stop the shedding completely.I hope you got your answer. Some times excessive shedding might be an allergic reaction to something. Have you been using a new brand of dog food or feeding her new different people food? That might be the problem.

My dog is a Border Collie/lab mix and sheds all year 'round. (He's black, too, so there's black hair everywhere.) The only thing I've found that controls it a little is to brush him, almost every day.

We have a border collie/ golden retriever mix and he just started shedding a lot a couple weeks ago. It's been a pretty cold winter--not sure what's up. Your puppy is adorable he looks a lot like our little pup! --Best mix ever.

Well, some breeds of dogs are heavy-shedders, so they shed more hair than other breeds. Moreover, the dogs which are kept inside the house may continue shedding all year long. They are not exposed to the the weather like normal dogs, so they might not start shedding in spring. So it is not an alarming thing to see a dog shedding his hair in winter.

Some dogs have two coats of hair and will shed excessively during specific times of the year. Research the breed of dog you have and find out the 'norm' for their shedding duration.
However! Dogs should not be shedding to the point of getting a bald spot. Get your dog checked out!

No you should not because I have two cats and one of them sheds like CRAZY. But she  still grows it back. So if the hair getting all over the place then just brush it 3 times a day.

The heavy shedding for summer sounds "normal", however the bald spot does not to me. Is your pet scratching a lot? If so it could be allergy related. Changes in shampoo or food or environment could be factors as well. What does your vet/groomer say? Shedding a lot for summer-normal. Bald spot? H-m---I would check that out.
