Is it swollen a lot or a little?
Could it be a reaction to a bite from something ... Insect, cat, another dog, wild animal, etc? Or are you meaning something bigger than a small lump?
Where exactly is the swelling? Sometimes dogs needs their anal glands emptied by a vet ...
